Sports Concussion Information Seminar

Quarterback Ranch, CISD, Dragon Youth Football to Present Sports Concussion Information Seminar February 27 in Southlake

The Quarterback Ranch, in conjunction with the Carroll I.S.D. and Dragon Youth Football, will present an informational session on concussions February 27 at the Carroll I.S.D. Administration Building in the large training room.

The event, entitled “Before, During, and After: Information about Sports Concussions” will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature Dr. Mark Greenberg, Carroll Athletics team physician, Dr. Cagan Randall of Carrick Brain Centers, and Kevin Ozee, Carroll ISD Director of Athletics. The CISD Administration Building is located at 2400 North Carroll Avenue, Southlake.

“This is an issue that we read about almost daily in the newspaper about NFL players,” said Bill Webb, Founder of The Quarterback Ranch. “But concussions impact our own children right here in our community and we believe it is important to have those with the information present it in a useful and organized format. Our goal with this event is to bring facts to the table to help parents be better informed about a vital issue that can and does affect our student athletes.”

Carrick Brain Centers, based in Las Colinas and with a location in Southlake, is a multidisciplinary brain rehabilitation center that combines evidence-based diagnostics with leading-edge technologies and treatments to quickly help improve the quality of life of patients suffering from brain injuries due to physical or emotional trauma or degenerative conditions that affect the brain and central nervous system. They are currently involved in significant research efforts related to both sports and the military as it relates to concussion recognition and treatment.
