2017 Under Armour Quarterback Ranch Awards – WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Sanders, Gerber Earn QB of the Year;
Lamb, Ashcraft Receiver of the Year
in 2016 Under Armour Quarterback Ranch Awards

A pair of quarterbacks who led their respective teams to the playoffs have earned the 2016 Under Armour Texas High School Quarterbacks of the Year presented by The Quarterback Ranch. Spencer Sanders of Denton Ryan High School has been named the 2016 6A-5A QB of the Year while Nick Gerber of Levelland High School is the winner from the 4A and Below and Private School classifications.

CeeDee Lamb of Richmond (Foster) High School has been named the 6A-5A Receiver of the Year while Braxton Ashcraft of Robinson High School is the 4A and Below and Private School Receiver of the Year. The winners are selected from a list of finalists by a panel of statewide media members and former players and coaches and is based on regular season play during the 2016 season.

Sanders, a 6-2, 190-pound junior and Oklahoma State University commit, led Denton Ryan to a 14-1 overall record. He threw for 3,288 yards and 35 touchdowns with 5 interceptions and rushed for another 1,099 yards and 18 TDs on 190 carries.

Gerber rewrote the record books in his senior season at Levelland High School, throwing for 5,617 yards and 77 touchdowns while rushing for another five. Levelland finished the year at 10-4. The 6-2, 180-pound senior threw only eight interceptions in 552 attempts.

Lamb, a senior, had 98 receptions for 2,032 yards and 33 TDs for Richmond (Foster). Richmond finished the year at 14-1. At 6-2, 172 pound, Lamb is an Oklahoma University recruit.

In his junior season at Robinson, Ashcraft had 104 receptions for 2,090 yards and 37 touchdowns. The 6- 5, 190-pounder helped lead his team to a 9-3 record.
